Depart DC: Vintage Virginia Wine Festival

In the past few weeks, I have shared information about quite a few wine festivals that are a bit of a cruise from the DC metro area.  If you have been waiting for one a little closer to home your wait is over!  The Vintage Virginia Wine Festival held at Bull Run Park in Centreville, VA on June 2-3, 2012 is the place to go for wine. Duh!  Over 50 wineries will be featured as well as live music along and kid’s activities such as a ventriloquist, juggler and balloon lady.  Advance ticket prices are $30 per person which includes a wine glass and tastings

Britain's Best

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you are getting out to grill and enjoy this glorious day in honor of those who have served and sacrificed for our country.  I salute you.

If you are actively participating in the Meatless Monday movement, today’s recipe for a Mediterranean Chicken Salad is just the ticket. But if you are looking to grill on this Memorial Day, swap out tomorrow’s recipe for Chipotle Burgers for your dinner tonight and you are all set!  Pictured above is Friday’s fish and chips recipe that my kids are totally going to dig!  You could pair the fish and chips with my PIMM’S Passion recipe from Friday’s Sip post and it will be like a super cheap trip to the UK! Bon appetit!
