Sip: Valentine’s Day Sipper (with a hint of Spring!)

Personally not a big fan of Valentine’s Day. It is too commercial (like most holidays) and shouldn’t we show those we care about how much we love them more than once a year?! No matter how you spend this heart filled day, a fabulous way to close out the day would be sipping a Wild Strawberry Basil Martini! You’ve got a little redd-ish pink in the drink and the strawberries add a little taste of spring that would be ever-so-welcome in the misdt of the winter doldrums! Cheers, love!

Wild Strawberry Basil Martini

2 oz. SKYY Infusions Wild Strawberry Vodka
1 oz. Fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 oz. Simple syrup
2 Basil leaves
3 Strawberry Slices

Muddle all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice, and shake vigorously until well-combined. Strain into a chilled martini glass.

Sip: Brandy, Armagnac and Cognac

I came across a rather interesting article on about brandy, how it’s made, and some yummy cognacs to try! Brandy has never been on my top spirits list and it’s allure as of late has prompted me to give it a go! Sipping a glass of brandy or cognac fireside, under a blanket with a good book is just the thing for a cold winter’s night especially now that football season has come to an end! Cheers!

Sip: Ginger Shandies

It’s going to be an exciting Super Bowl this Sunday pitting brother against brother. And, oh brother, you need a party drink that’s not high maintenance. (Don’t want to miss a second of the game mixing drinks, do you?) Enter Ginger Shandies. A delightful blend of ginger beer and a light Hoegaarden which is sure to please both Ravens and ‘Niners fans alike! Cheers!
