DepartDC/Contribute: Take a Bite Out of Lyme

Consider this your official invitation to the Loudoun Lyme 5K Run with proceeds benefiting the National Capital Lyme Disease Association. Lyme disease is the leading tick borne illness in the country and is particularly prevalent in Loudoun County.  Some amazing strides have been made in Virginia with new legislation passed which forces doctors to alert their patients to the inconsistent and often times inaccurate results from the Western Blot test which has been the go-to test for Lyme. Patients are now armed with the information that there are other options, more effective and accurate options for testing. The longer the disease goes undiagnosed, the harder it is to treat and it attacks more organs in your body making you increasingly more ill.  Come on out and support your friends and neighbors that are suffering from this debilitating disease.
